• Zephyr for JIRA v1.2 Released: Enhanced Test Planning and Visibility

You asked. We listened. You hollered. We built!

Just 8 weeks ago, we launched Zephyr for JIRA, a brand new test management application, built exclusively for the new JIRA 5 Platform. For years project teams who have standardized on JIRA have been trying to use JIRA, Confluence, spreadsheets or a combination of these tools for test case management. Some of the problems these teams have ran into include; inconsistent data, double entries, trying to link to requirements, inability to plan execution cycles and lack of visibility into quality metrics.

Now, with Zephyr for JIRA,  project teams can integrate testing into their workflow and easily organize, execute track and report on testing alongside tasks, requirements, tests and defects. Zephyr for JIRA gives project teams, traceability, quality metrics and test progress, all in the same JIRA UI.

The responses have been amazing! Project teams that are just getting started and trying to put together their first tool set, or need a simple way to create tests with a checklist of tests to run every time some event happens (build complete, ready to ship, deliver to customer, push out website, submit an app, etc.) have claimed that Zephyr for JIRA is an ideal solution.

We appreciate all of the feedback we’ve been getting from everyone who has been evaluating the product. Please keep the requests coming, because you’re driving our product roadmap. Last month, we announced the three most requested features in Zephyr for JIRA 1.1. And as fast as you can say it, we answered with more feature requests in the release of Zephyr for JIRA 1.2. So take advantage of the whopping 50% introductory discount while it lasts, because it is going away soon!

    NEW FEATURES IN v1.2

    1. Significantly improved capability to add tests to Test Cycles

Use your saved JIRA searches, filter and reuse tests from previous test cycles, and build very specific and targeted Test Cycles. This is sure to reduce hundreds of clicks!

    2. 30-day visibility into testing – automatically!

Now the Test Summary page shows off all your creation and execution hard work in 30 day chunks – so everyone knows you’re not slacking off!

    3. New Gadget highlights the top defects that impact your testing

And then we had this rogue developer who went off, built a gadget and wanted to ship at the last minute. We said “No way!” but then when we saw it, we fell in love with it and had to bring it to you. It’s so bloody useful! “Top 5/10/15 defects that impact your testing” – how cool would it be if you could – at one glance – know which were your biggest, baddest bugs holding up most of your testing? Check it out in the Gadget Gallery.

Last, but not least, we fixed a bunch of little issues that were annoying, tweaked a bunch of features to make it easier and faster to manage your test cycles and executions. So go upgrade to 1.2 and have fun!
